J&K State AIDS Control Society in collaboration with Department of Psychiatry organized three Training of Trainers (TOT) Programme on Drug De-Addiction and HIV/AIDS
Jammu, April 24: J&K State AIDS Control Society in collaboration with Department of Psychiatry, Government Medical College, Jammu and Directorate of Higher Education, J&K, Jammu organized three Training of Trainers (TOT) Programme on Drug De-Addiction and HIV/AIDS at Psychiatric Diseases Hospital, Jammu on 25th & 26th March, 28th & 29th March 2019 and 23rd & 24th April 2019 . The participants included teaching faculty and students from different government degree colleges of Jammu province.
In this connection, the third batch of training of trainers concluded here today. The chief guest of the concluding function was Sh. Mohammad Rafiq, Director Finance, H&ME Department, J&K government and the guest of Honour of the programme was Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Project Director J&K State AIDS Control Society (JKSACS).
Speaking on the occasion Director Finance, H&ME Department, J&K assured all possible help in redeeming the sufferings of Drug Addicts and adopting strategies and policies for preventing the trapping of the youth towards the menace of Drug Abuse. Project Director J&K State AIDS Control Society while interacting with the participant informed them that government is making all-out efforts to reach out to the people residing in the different regions of the state regarding this serious issue in order to tap a maximum number of people so that the situation could be controlled and stopped from further deterioration. He also sought feedback from the participants for further improving the quality of the training programme. The programme culminated with the presentation of certificates to the participants.
The resource persons/experts who shared their views with the participants and covered different important topics included Dr. J.R.Thappa Professor, Dr. Manu Arora, Assistant Professor, Dr. Abhishek Chowhan, Consultant, Dr. Rakesh Banal, Lecturer, Dr. Rameshwar Singh, Registrar and Dr. Gurmeet Kour, Incharge Drug De-Addiction Center from Psychiatric Diseases Hospital Jammu and Mrs. Deepika B Thakur, Deputy Director and Mr. Risheesh Khajuria, Assistant Director from J&K State AIDS Control Society and Ms. Pallavi Singh from SPYM. Mr. Rajesh Sharma, AD (Youth) and Mr. Dinesh Sharma I/c Stores JKSACS helped in organizing the training programme.
