BJP National Vice President Avinash Rai Khanna writes a letter to the International Human Rights Commission for intervention in kidnapping and conversion of a Hindu teenage girl in Pakistan
Hindus, their daughters, not safe in Pakistan
Jammu, April 20: Taking strong note of the reports of kidnapping and conversion of a Hindu teenage girl in Pakistan, BJP National Vice President & party’s former Human Rights Cell National Convenor, Avinash Rai Khanna, has written a letter to the International Human Rights Commission for intervention in such a serious matter to save the humanity.
Through the said letter, addressed to Chairperson, High Commission, Human Rights Commission, Geneva, Switzerland, Avinash Rai Khanna has mentioned that there are reports that in Sindh State of Pakistan, a teenage girl belonging to the Hindu Community has been kidnapped and forcibly converted, which is very shocking and total violation of Human Rights of Minority in Pakistan. The same reports have further stated that about 25 forced marriages took place in a month in Umer Kot District of Sindh State of Pakistan.
Avinash Rai Khanna also referred to the report of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, which mentioned that as many as 1000 cases of forced conversion and marriages took place in Southern Sindh province in 2018 alone, which shows that Minority, particularly Hindus and their daughters are not safe in Pakistan.
Seeking immediate intervention of the Commission, Khanna said that it is a clear cut violation of Human Rights and stern action needed to be taken to stop the repetition of such inhuman acts to induce a sense of security and safety among the Minority Community in Pakistan.
