Jammu: Rajesh Gupta state President National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) today exhorted people to rise above political affiliations and contribute towards bringing harmony in the society, as attempts of polarization by anti-national and communal parties NC, PDP and Congress would only lead the nation and the state of Jammu and Kashmir to biggest catastrophe. “We have to preserve the idea of India and Jammu and Kashmir which is embedded in harmony, inclusiveness, peace and tranquillity”, Gupta said while addressing to party workers at party headquarters Jammu today. Rajesh said polarization has cost the nation hugely lately, as some elements in the mistaken belief of gaining mileage from hate politics have vitiated the atmosphere that has generated mistrust and apprehensions in different segments of society.
“The instrument of Accession that J&K signed in 1947 was not different from the ones other princely states signed when they merged themselves into India. Article 370 came in to being in 1950 while Article 35 A was incorporated into the constitution in 1954 and this makes it clear that these subsequent developments were not prerequisite to J&K's accession to India. “He said. “Jammu province is in danger. Concerted moves have been afoot since 1996 to change its demography by looting the state, the forest, the JDA, the Municipal and the Panchayat lands in and around Jammu city. The demographic profile of Jammu has drastically changed and this process has to be reversed,”
NDPI stands vindicated”, said Rajesh Gupta by explaining that now even P.M Sh. Narendra Modi, Home Minister Sh. Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Sh. Arun Jaitley and BJP National President Sh. Amit Shah is also saying the same and acknowledging that Article 35A and Article 370 have not only harmed the people of the state but has also hurt the nation. All these Constitutional Authorities post-Pulwama attack on a number of occasions have publicly declared that these Articles have only promoted Separatism in the state.
“It is a matter of great satisfaction that Jammu & Kashmir, Article 35A, Article 370, Kashmir Jihad, Expulsion of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir in 1990, Subversion of Democratic Processes in the state and Neglect of Jammu and Ladakh have become the major poll planks in the election campaign. With none other than PM Narendra Modi himself raking up these issues of national import and seeking people’s mandate holding out a solemn commitment that he will not allow two Flags, two Constitutions in Jammu & Kashmir and that no power on earth can separate the state from India.
Such a situation is needed to be contained by building trust between various communities “A country known for its pluralistic ethos cannot afford drift between people belonging to different faiths”, he said and made a fervent appeal to the people to isolate such forces in the larger national interest.
NDPI State President said this is the spirit of Indian civilization that has grown and flourished the world over for its cultural richness and spiritual awakening traditions of the State. “Let’s make a pledge today to work for further cementing the spirit of brotherhood by isolating polarizing agents”, Gupta said and stressed the crucial need of respecting each other’s sentiments. He also urged the people to dedicate themselves to the great task of steering Jammu and Kashmir to peace and tranquillity.
On the occasion, Rajan Sharma, Om Parkash Sharma, Sandeep Anand, Varinder Sudan and Dr Gaurav Tondon were also present.
