Jammu, September 18: Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament, BJP Lok Sabha Jammu-Poonch along with MLC Vikram Randhawa visited Govt Higher Secondary School Channi Himmat Jammu and took public awareness rally to avoid the use of Single-Use Plastic & Save Water in Channi Himmat Gandhinagar Constituency Jammu.
In continuation of Nationwide Programme "Seva Saptaha" led by Bharatiya Janata Party, BJP MP Jugal Kishore Sharma held awareness camp & rally at Channi Himmat Jammu. While addressing the students & staff of GHSS Channi Himmat Jammu and gathering present on the occasion he said that it is our foremost duty to save the environment. Single-use Plastic is not a bio-degradable waste & not even recycled. Many animals and other species met with unfortunate death due to consumption of plastic. He said that many problems are now being faced due to water scarcity in rural as well as in urban areas in summer seasons. Abundant water gets wasted every year due to misuse & some negligence. He asked that water should be judiciously used and saved so that every species can get that adequate water supply.
Member of Parliament also listened to the demands of the students and staff and announced Rupees 5 Lac for development of the school from his Member of Parliament Local Area Development Funds Scheme.
Vikram Randhawa MLC on the occasion said that "Seva Saptaha" led by BJP is now adopted by all and all civic societies, as well as citizens, are participating in the said programme. He also thanked Member of Parliament for sanctioning MPLAD funds for the development of the school.
