Jammu: Kirti of Ropar in Punjab lifted the 35th Salora Kesari Dangal title defeating Goldy of Garh Shanker, again of Punjab in the main bout that lasted for 21 minutes at Salora in district Jammu.
Kirti awarded with a cash prize of Rs 18,000 while runners-up Goldy received Rs 13,000.
Dangal was organized by Salora Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of president Salora Dangal Committee, Chuni Lal Ramotra and Rajinder Kumar Ramotra.
Social activist, Parshotam Singh was the chief guest, who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runners-up wrestlers. Former Joint Secretary of J&K State Sports Council and president of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided.
Station House Officer (SHO), Mohd. Shokat, Sarpanch Makhan Lal, Sarpanch Bansi Lal Sharma and Sarpanch Suraz Deen were guests of honour. Prominent among others present were Sat Paul Verma, Om Parkash Verma (Contractor) Tara Chand and ex Sarpanch, Mohd. Sadiq
In all, 46 bouts were played in the day-long dangal. All three-second bouts held between Nisar of Doda and Mehar Singh of Delhi; Ajay Sharma of Udhampur and Aman of Garh Shanker and Vikas of Bahadurgarh in Haryana and Munner of Nagrota ended in a draw. All these six wrestlers were given away Rs 6,000 each as prize money by the organisers.
Salora Dangal Committee members and technical officials who helped for the conduct of this Dangal were Chuni Lal Ramotra, Rajinder Kumar Ramotra, Surinder Sharma (Shindha) Arun Kumar Ramotra (Punny), Ahem Din Choudhary, Ashok Kumar, Bansi Lal Sarpanch, Sohan Lal (Soni) Nek Ram, Om Parkash, Mohd.
