Jammu, September 07: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialty Hospital recently established its first vertigo clinic in Jammu and Kashmir that offers a high-tech comprehensive assessment platform to determine the root cause of dizziness and balance disorders. The issue of access to quality and affordable healthcare is a critical issue in Jammu and Kashmir. By making neuro healthcare diagnoses available for the people, the hospital ensures that people don’t need to travel far to centers like Chandigarh or Delhi to get these diagnoses.
Dr. Ankush Sharma and Dr. Pooja Gupta, Consultants, Dept. of Neurology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialty Hospital informed that dizziness and other symptoms of multiple neuro-vestibular disorders (including vertigo, migraine, and balance) manifest in the pupil movement. VNG captures, measures and analyzes these manifestations, helping clinicians determine the root cause and to plan appropriate early-stage treatment. Additionally, it also helps to rule out many central disorders like tumors and stroke.
Dr (Brig) Man Mohan Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialty Hospital added that "Our hospital has been a pioneer in ushering state of the art healthcare facilities in the region with a core aim to provide world-class healthcare services for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and establishing this vertigo clinic is one more step in this direction".
Dr. Rohan Gupta, Consultant ENT Surgeon, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialty Hospital, says, “It is a must to have diagnostic tool in modern Neuro and ENT clinics as it helps clinicians segregate the root cause into central (brain) and peripheral (ear) areas and further narrow down the area of lesion.
