Tik Tok banned in India
Delhi, April 17: TikTok, an app for creating and sharing short videos, is officially gone from Android's Google Play and iOS' App Store.
The popular app used by teenagers for creation and sharing of short videos was available on application stores of both Google and Apple until Tuesday evening but is no longer available for downloads on both platforms. TikTok came into trouble after a case was filed against the service for hosting content related to child pornography and exposing children to sexual predators.
After a long debacle with the Indian judiciary, Bytedance's popular app TikTok has been banned by an Indian state court.
Originally known as Musical.ly, the service was acquired by Bytedance Technologies and renamed as TikTok is marketing across the world.
TikTok owner Bytedance has to appear for another court hearing on April 24.
