Mankotia organises 12th Marathon Run Against Drugs at Udhampur; Addl SP flags off
Udhampur, August 18: Intensify Anti-Drug Campaign at Udhampur, Chief Patron Dogra Kranti Dal NGO, Former MLA & NPP President Balwant Singh Mankotia today organised 12th marathon run in series against drug abuse which commenced from Sattani at around 6:30 am & concludes at Roundomail. Marathon was organised by NGO Dogra Kranti Dal, near about 150 youth participated in the Marathon. Add SP Udhampur Rajinder Katoch flags off Run who was present as Chief Guest on the occasion. He appeals to parents to join this movement against Drugs.
Showing deep concern over increasing drugs at Udhampur on such fast rate, Mankotia said that to make Udhampur drug free is our prime goal & we are working at a Ground-level by organising such marathons & sports activities.
Mankotia while addressing youth expressed his anxiety over the spread of “Chitta” named drug at such a fast rate during the past three years due to which many of the youngsters have lost their lives during the previous days in Udhampur. Mankotia said that it is the conspiration of neighbourhood country to make our youth concave by making them drug addict. He appealed all the political and non-political parties to come along to make our city drug free. Mankotia demanded strict action against drug peddlers. He said that such type of awareness by organising such activities should be done periodically which is the only route for drawing youth away from drugs.
Mankotia informed that during the previous days he has made door to door awareness campaign against drugs and also made huge rallies to eradicate such a menace and to take stern action against drug peddlers. Mankotia while showing his concern over the drug abuse said that eradication of Drugs is need of the hour & it is our prime goal. Hundreds of youngsters also take the oath to stay from Drugs.
Later, Mankotia also felicitates first three winners with a cash prize in which 1st prize Omveer Singh with ₹3100, per cent 2nd prize Rakesh Kumar with ₹2100 & 3rd prize Jagdev Singh with ₹1100. Also, ₹500 to others up to 10th rank includes Ajay Kumar, Mohit Sharma, Munish Singh, Barun Singh, Sudesh Kumar, Raghubir Singh, Ganesh, Vikas Singh, Pankaj, Mohd. Shakeel.
On the occasion Sonu Pehlwan, Dara Singh Panch, Vinod Sharma Naib Sarpanch, Mangal Singh, Rattan Singh Panch, Vikram Singh, Sohan Singh, Manzoor Hussain, Ramesh Panch, Kuldeep Singh Chairman, Des Raj, Shamlal Panch, Gurdev, ShamLal Khajuria Panch etc were also present.
