Jammu, August 14: Indian Army organised an interaction with prominent citizens of Mendhar tehsil in Poonch district as part of the Mission Reach Out. 65 prominent persons attended the meet which included heads of all communities and civil dignitaries of Mendhar. The meeting was chaired by Maj Gen PS Bajwa, General Officer Commanding, Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo).
At the outset, the General Officer Commanding greeted the gathering and interacted with them regarding any issues confronting them. It was brought out by the gathering that despite attempts by trouble creators to create unrest in the area, the unity amongst the people of Mendhar remains strong as always.
The General Officer Commanding urged the gathering to remain vigilant to thwart any nefarious attempts by inimical and anti-social elements. He also encouraged them to stand shoulder to shoulder with each other and address the apprehensions of the people in the present situation. The gathering was also told that the peace and tranquillity in the region will go a long way in bringing prosperity and better future prospects for future generations. This initiative of Army was appreciated by all and they pledged to stay united through these testing times.
