Jammu, August 14: J K Public School celebrated 73rd Independence Day and the festival of Rakshabandhan in the school premises, on 14 August 2019, with religious fervour. A special Assembly was conducted by the school students. The school premise was decorated with Tricolor as a symbol of tribute to all those freedom fighters and soldiers who laid their life for the country. The event commenced with the Flag hoisting by Shashi Chaudhary, Director, JK Educational Society and K Singh, Principal, JKPS, followed by a patriotic song by the school choir. The Dance Drama “Maa Meri” by the Toddlers’ World was mesmerizing. The young kids won the hearts of the audience. The whole premises echoed with the patriotic zeal.
Harshita, a student of class X, highlighted the true meaning of Real Independence through her speech which was followed by a dance, on the festive occasion of Rakshabandhan, depicting the bond of love between brothers and sisters, left the audience little emotional. Speaking on the occasion, S.K. Singh, Principal, JKPS, extended his heartiest wishes to one and all. Also, he appreciated the efforts of the students emphasized the importance of celebrating the festivals and urged the students to preserve the socio-cultural heritage of the country. He motivated the students to understand the true meaning of these festivals.
He congratulated the staff and students on the auspicious occasion with the message for peace and harmony. He applauded the efforts of the students for their excellent participation in the event. He stressed that such celebrations at school teach students about our traditions. Also, he motivated the students that the festival is not only the celebration and festivity but to take good care of the surroundings in which we all survive
