Hindus-Muslims dance on natinalist beats to cherish Independence day
Rajouri, August 14: People in the twin border district of Rajouri-Poonch celebrated the government's decision to abolish Article 370. The decision to scrap Article 370 has been welcomed by people not only across the state but throughout the country. The residents of Rajouri marked their celebration by carrying out Tiranga rally with nationalist fervour and zeal.
BJP senior leader Vibodh Gupta joined the celebration and danced along with the people to drumbeats and distributed sweets. He applauded the Centre’s move as a "landmark", “historic” and "monumental” decision towards the delivery of justice to J&K and restoring peace. Despite certain restrictions, people from various places came out of their houses, holding tiranga and cherishing their first Independence day after scrapping of Article 370. People hailed liberation from Article 370 as liberation from unemployment, poverty, terrorism and discrimination.
While addressing the rally, Vibodh congratulated people and expressed his gratitude for love and support from them. "I am overwhelmed and emotional watching Hindu-Muslim dancing on nationalist beats which is a tight slap on those who are running false and fake agenda on J&K", added Vibodh. He slammed BBC, Congress and asked them to visit and observe happiness and celebration among the layman especially in Rajouri-Poonch following the historic decision to scrap Article 370. He said that with this justice has been conveyed to Dalits, women, ST and youth of the J&K who were denied rights since Independence.
People also raised slogan hailing Motherland, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Sarpanch Kewal also welcomed the centre's decision and said that this move will further strengthen the Panchayats in J&K which will lead to the overall development of the villages. Kapil Saryal also spoke on the occasion.
Some prominent residents that expressed their happiness on the historic decision of scrapping Article 370 were Yogesh Sharma, Naib Panch Mohd Sageer, Khadam Malik, Latif Younous and Iqbal.
