Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir police have busted a gang of thieves in Samba district and recovered ATM cards, Cash, and a sharp-edged weapon.
Acting on a complaint received at Police Station Vijaypur regarding swapping ATM cards and withdrawing money in the area, while taking cognizance of the complaint, Vijaypur police enquired the matter and after arduous efforts made by police team headed by SHO Vijaypur Inspr. Rajeev Kumar under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Priyanka Kumari succeeded in the arrest of 6 persons who were involved in the ATM swapping/theft cases.
On their disclosure during sustained questioning, 62 ATM cards of different banks were recovered from all of them along with cash of Rs 10,000. The gang members used one vehicle bearing Registration Number PB36J 8159 in the commission of crime and a sharp-edged weapon like Khokhri were also seized.
Police said a case FIR No 66/2022 u/s 420, 120B IPC 4/25 Arms Act got registered in the instant case at Police Station Vijaypur and further investigation started.
