Srinagar, July 21: A major attack was averted by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tangpura Bandh on the outskirts of Srinagar by detected massive 30 KG IED.
Official sources said an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detected by Explosive Detection Dog at Tangpura Bandh on the outskirts of Srinagar in Central Kashmir yesterday evening. The operation was launched on specific inputs.
Officials said Ganderbal based Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, JKP and CRPF in general area Tangpura at around 1800 hours detected IED after that search operation lead to recovery of an IED weighing Approximately 30 Kgs near Tangpura Bandh which is just 700 meters away from National Highway.
The IED was safely destroyed in-situ by Army Bomb Squad today morning. The timely recovery thwarted the nefarious design of terrorists and their supporters to destabilize the security situation in the valley.
