Jammu, November 20, 2020: The administration of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has started executing Prime Minister’s flagship programme Atmnirbhar Bharat at mission mode. The Lieutenant Governor of JKUT, Manoj Sinha disclosed this during an exclusive interview to Kalpana Chowdhary, Founder Social Tablez at Raj Bhavan, Jammu.
Replying to Kalpana’s query regarding the JKUT administration’s road map to overcome the challenges in executing Atmnirbhar program. Sinha said that they have already assessed the future challenges that might come to their whey while implementing various schemes and respective departments have been directed to make sure that all schemes reach properly to the beneficiaries with utmost ease and transparency. Rounds of meetings, discussions and orientation programmes are underway to improve the inter-departmental coordination, he added.
On reforming the MSME sector, Sinha disclosed that his administration’s focus is on reinventing the sector by taking the benefits down the line so that small workers engaged in the industry also draw the benefits of these reforms. He added that making JKUT Atmnirbhar means to empower the people from all strata of the society and benefits shouldn’t be confined to the employers only.
To Kalpana’s specific query on lack of interest by the Industrialists and Business leaders to invest in JKUT in the past, Sinha said that a lot has been done to make the environment conducive for the investors. We have been encouraging the investors from across the nation as well as the globe to come forward and invest here. He also disclosed that lots of investors have already commenced their projects and a lot more have shown their interest.
“I am glad to share that many reputed business houses like Tata, Adani, Hinduja, Birlas would impart skills development training to our youths and absorb them so we could be able to generate employment. Similarly, equity firms from the financial capital Mumbai would train our unemployed youths and give them great opportunities to work in the financial world,” he said. “ Ashish Chauhan, MD and CEO of Bombay Stock Exchange have got 5000 thousand youths trained in stocks and all of them would get employment in the financial market, '' he added.
.Sinha expressed his commitment to work in association with good social and private organizations to empower women and youths of JKUT.
.Sinha said that JKUT has immense potential and the Union Government under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is committed for its overall growth and development. “I can give you many examples like we under new lad reforms now apple growers have been allowed to grow apples without prior permission, which is a revolutionary decision. It was never possible earlier. Now we have started Geo-Tagging of Saffron which would boost the saffron market,” he disclosed.
