Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu organizes a Free Medical camp
Jammu, April 30: Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu organized a Free Medical camp and awareness programme about the nutrition among the children and the general masses. In this camp, more than 423 people including children from nearby schools including students from Genesis International Playway School, Karan Bagh, and Gursheen Sales, their parents and Staff of school were benefitted by the camp suffering from different ailments. Free medicine was distributed.
The programme was organized under the outreach programme of the hospital in association with United Sikh Forum. Dr. Taran Singh, Medical Superintendent, Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu asked the students to avoid junk food and unhealthy eating habits Ayurved stresses upon the right diet. He further added Ayurveda places special emphasis on Ahara and believes that healthy nutrition nourishes the mind, body, and soul. Ahara is considered as one of the key pillars (Upasthambha).
Speaking on the occasion Prof.Dr. Anil Sharma M.D. appreciated the role of Director Indian systems of Medicine and Homeopathy J&K. He apprised students and their parents about the value of nourishment through diet in his lecture on the occasion. He stressed upon the diet should be included of all essential element of nutrition. He said that a nutritious diet is essential for an active mind and a healthy body.
Speaking on the occasion members of United Sikh Forum thanked the administration of Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital for organizing such a big camp for the first time in the area. They extended their support to make Ayurved popular. Those who spoke on the occasion include S. Gurmeet Singh, S. Mehar Singh, S. Sher Singh, Sh. Raj Kumar Nishchal, S. N.P. Singh and S. Arshdeep Singh.
