Muzaffarnagar (UP), Oct 20: A man has been arrested for allegedly shooting his wife dead in Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Tuesday.
Thirty-five-year-old Khushnuma was shot dead by her husband over a family dispute on October 18 in the Khatoli area of the district, the police said.
A case was registered against her husband Feroz, brother-in-law Sartaj and mother-in-law Kamer Jahan.
Feroz, who had fled after the crime, has been arrested and a search is on for the remaining accused, a police officer said.
Muzaffarnagar (UP), Oct 20: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly sexually harassed by a medical store owner in Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh, police said Tuesday.
The accused has been on the run since the incident on Monday. A case has been registered and the girl was sent for medical examination, a police officer said.
According to the complaint filed by the girl's family, she was taken to the medicine store by its owner on the pretext of administering injection and sexually harassed, the police said.

The police personnel at metro stations have been conducting a drive to check the violation of COVID-19 guidelines. Passengers who were not wearing masks or maintaining social distancing were fined, they said.
Shimla: Four people died on the spot in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district as their car fell into a deep gorge
The car fell into the nearly 300-metre deep gorge after it was hit by an SUV at Kalhel under the jurisdiction of Tissa police station, they added.
The deceased have been identified as driver Jaswant singh (38) of Ail village, Kamardeen (53) of Charodi, Sito (50) of Kalhel village and and his 24-year-old son Kamal.
A police party intercepted two persons at Shahidi Chowk area and arrested them after recovery of 150 grams of heroin, they said.
They have been identified as Arhan Sheikh and Pranab Sharma, they said. A case was registered at Peer Mitha police station. The accused were arrested and further investigation is in progress, they said.

The Estates Department sealed the office of 'Kashmir Times' at Press Enclave here on Monday, officials said.

Srinagar, Oct 20: A militant was killed in an overnight encounter with security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, taking the death toll of ultras killed in the operation to two, the Army said on Tuesday.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Melhura in Zainapora area of Shopian on Monday evening following information about presence of militants in the area, a police official said.
